A Big Winter Blast late this weekend and early into next week should
bring quality SUP Wave action to Kite Beach Cabarete. Look for lite
Trade Winds Friday Evening before this
Big Winter Low displaces our trade winds as it moves South of Bermuda.
Expect Quality Wave Action Late Sunday into Monday with the Swell
holding through the week. There is a good chance of wind and rain
especially Sunday and beyond. The organized kiter should be able to get
quality kite boarding as this storm races across the North Shore of the
Dominican Republic. Kiters should look for strong Clearing winds early
next week. This storm should be 60-40 SUP to Kite Storm. Looks like wave
hights will be big enough for the SUP CUP to happen! Shooters and Big Wave Riders should be ready

Ganzo Recap
The SUP CUP happened due to Gonzalo, a slow moving Hurricane which passes to the North of Kite Beach Cabarete. A week of good surf and lite off shore wind transformed the Kite Beach into a Wave pool. All that is left of Gonzalo is photos and video. Here is what we have...

Ya, Gonzalo was a great SUP Storm...wind stayed extremely light and "Family Surf" rolled over the reef today, Sunday. Nice way to end a week of quality Paddle Boarding Action.
Stefan shot both Video and Still shots from the Kite Excite Photo Tower and Wesley Wang shot Drone action from ocean Point 2. Here is some Wesley Wang Video

Gonzalo hangs out...perfect SUP Storm for Kite Beach Cabarete
Gonzalo was nice enough to move into position and hang out throwing quality swell across Kite Beach Cabarete "... the storm blocked the trade winds while throwing quality surf onto the reefs of Kite Beach Cabarete, so we had glassy conditions with Big Surf."
"...the storm was slow moving which really helped out SUP wave action here on kite beach." Says Method John
Now the storm has morphed with a Low pressure system coming of the East Coast giving quality action all along the East coast to Bermuda.
The Drone crew got it together today after Stefan from Kite Excite dominated the "Best Photo" class of the competition. Wesley Wang had the drone in position today and got a bit of video but the Drone Cam is not so easy...here are a few screen shots.

Gonzalo was a very very good SUP Storm for Kite Beach Cabarete
Gonzalo was a quality SUP Storm and Kite Beach cabarete reef handled the Surf well. Kite Beach Channel stayed open as Gonzalo threw nice small waves for a few days,
because Kite Beach was in the "Lee" of the storm we had lite winds throughout the storm. Tuesday the surf picked up nicely and the last two days the surf got large and the SUP CUP was on. Method John and Gordon Gannon each got their wave quota´s. Drone operators struggled to get their birds in the air as Land Shooter, Stefan from Kite Boarding School Kite Excite easily won best photos.

Just when you think Hurricane Season is over
Wow...kite beach Cabarete has been getting some Quality SUP Surf off a late Tropical Storm, Gonzalo. Light off shore winds met big swells to make for a an excellent Big Wave Day. Gordon Gannon and Method John both caught there waves to qualify, buy of photogs had technical difficulties. This year the competition has really switched to include "Best Photo" as well as Wave Count and Ride Style. So we need our photogs!
